Oil rises to highest price since May 11

The price of oil ended at its highest point in three months Friday, with four straight days of gains, on signs U.S. consumers are gaining confidence in the economy.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange:

Benchmark crude rose 41 cents in New York to end at $96.01 per barrel.

Heating oil fell 3 cents to finish at $3.09 per gallon.

Wholesale gasoline fell 6 cents to end at $3.03 per gallon.

Natural gas fell 5 cents to finish at $2.72 per 1,000 cubic feet.

On the ICE Futures exchange in London:

Brent crude fell $1.56 to end at $113.71 a barrel.
