ACE L rose $.30 or .4 percent, to $73.21.

Aflac Inc. rose $.26 or .6 percent, to $45.90.

American International Group rose $.58 or 1.7 percent, to $34.61.

MBIA rose $.34 or 3.3 percent, to $10.74.

MGIC Investments Corp. fell $.05 or 4.0 percent, to $1.19.

MetLife fell $.21 or .6 percent, to $34.58.

XL Group PLC rose $.31 or 1.3 percent, to $23.46.
