ACE L fell $.33 or .4 percent, to $73.36.

Aflac Inc. rose $.80 or 1.8 percent, to $45.74.

American International Group rose $.37 or 1.1 percent, to $32.46.

MBIA rose $.13 or 1.4 percent, to $9.10.

MGIC Investments Corp. rose $.05 or 4.5 percent, to $1.04.

MetLife rose $.78 or 2.3 percent, to $34.23.

XL Group PLC rose $.20 or .9 percent, to $21.49.
