BP PLC rose $.95 or 2.4 percent, to $40.90.

Chevron rose $2.20 or 2.0 percent, to $111.45.

ConocoPhillips rose $1.24 or 2.3 percent, to $55.89.

Exxon Mobil Corp. rose $1.62 or 1.9 percent, to $87.50.

Marathon Oil Corp. rose $1.08 or 4.2 percent, to $26.81.
