COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) — Hyundai Motor America said Tuesday that its U.S. vehicle sales rose 7.8 percent for June as the company reported the continuation of a "slight softening" in growth that began in May after a strong opening four months of the year.
BY THE NUMBERS: Hyundai said it sold 63,813 vehicles last month, up from 59,209 in June 2011.
TOP SELLERS: The company sold 20,931 of its Sonata cars, a gain of 12.3 percent, and 17,655 Elantras, a decline of 11.7 percent.
HOT MODELS: Accent sales increased 56.7 percent to 5,660, and the company sold 3,232 of its new Veloster compact.
