ACE L rose $.49 or .7 percent, to $74.93.

Aflac Inc. rose $.54 or 1.3 percent, to $43.37.

American International Group rose $.55 or 1.7 percent, to $32.39.

MBIA rose $.14 or 1.3 percent, to $11.05.

MGIC Investments Corp. rose $.13 or 4.4 percent, to $3.08.

MetLife rose $.55 or 1.8 percent, to $31.21.

XL Group PLC rose $.09 or .4 percent, to $21.17.
