YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Michigan remains in the grip of a heat wave that has driven temperatures as high as the upper 90s, while flash flooding from heavy rain threatens two Lower Peninsula counties.

The National Weather Service says the temperature Sunday hit 97 degrees in Ypsilanti, center of a heat wave that drove the high to 105 on Thursday. The weather service reports highs of 93 at Hillsdale and Lambertville, with 92-degree readings at Adrian, Coldwater, Detroit Flint, Kalamazoo and Three Rivers.

The weather service has issued flash flood warnings for Branch and Hillsdale counties, which got as much as three inches of rain Sunday.
