NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top oil companies were up at the close of trading:

BP PLC rose $.43 or 1.1 percent, to $38.24.

Chevron rose $1.62 or 1.6 percent, to $102.57.

ConocoPhillips rose $.81 or 1.5 percent, to $54.45.

Exxon Mobil Corp. rose $.80 or 1.0 percent, to $83.20.

Marathon Oil Corp. rose $.40 or 1.7 percent, to $24.40.
