CARSON CITY, Nev.
Two solar projects are being unveiled this week in Carson City, Nev.
A 200-kilowatt project at Western Nevada College will be dedicated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, and officials with NV Energy Inc. will present the college with a $940,000 rebate check from the utility's SolarGenerations Program to offset installation costs.
Black Rock Solar also helped with the project.
Officials say the solar panels are expected to generate up to 360,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
At 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 300-kilowatt solar facility will be dedicated at Carson City's wastewater reclamation facility on East Fifth Street.
The city will receive a $1.4 million rebate from NV Energy, as well as a $141,000 rebate for a smaller solar project completed at the city's corporate yard.
