Recognizing the central role played by technology industries in the Massachusetts economy, four leading trade associations -- The Massachusetts Software Council, the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council, the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council, and the American Electronics New England Council -- have joined together to form the Commonwealth Coalition.

"Our goal is to promote Massachusetts as a center for technology innovation and leadership," says Joyce Plotkin, president of the Software Council. "Since its inception, the coalition has focused its efforts on unifying the technology community, commissioning research to identify our strengths, and positioning Massachusetts as The.Commonwealth, the State of Things to Come."

The coalition's Web site, www. The.Commonwealthmass.com, provides information on Massachusetts IT industry clusters, educational and research activities, employment data, investment activities, and business service industries. "Our goal is to make www. The.Commonwealthmass.com Web site a portal to the world's most highly concentrated cluster of IT innovators in software, the Internet, telecommunications, and electronics, and to promote Massachusetts as the best place in the world to conduct IT business." says Plotkin.
