Peace Hardly Stands a Chance HARDLINE POLITICS More Palestinians are turning their backs on Yasser Arafat and supporting violent groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak is considering teaming up with hawkish Likud leader Ariel Sharon in a unity government. SEPARATIST TENDENCIES Palestinian businessmen say they want to cut ties with Israeli businesses. Israel has already blocked some 90,000 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza from traveling to their jobs.
