Equipment You Need

You don't need lots of fancy gear to start working out with a trainer in your own home. Here's what Tony Ordas of the American Council on Exercise recommends:

-- Cross trainers or running shoes

-- Loose, comfortable workout clothes

-- Gloves for lifting weights to prevent calluses

-- A jump rope for cardio-vascular workouts

-- Barbells or free weights are optional; most trainers will provide them
