WAGING M&A BATTLES
Fought off LVMH Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy's attack on Gucci and Banque Nationale de Paris' hostile bid for Societe Generale. Helped extract an additional $5 billion for Elf Aquitaine shareholders in losing fight with TotalFina.

CREATING NEW SECURITIES
Pioneered the European high-yield market. Managed huge securitization deals for Ireland's GPA, British Land, and Canary Wharf. Also managed controversial $1.4 billion securitization for Formula 1 racing boss Bernie Ecclestone.

RESHAPING MARKETS
Lobbying hard for Europe's stock exchanges to unify. Took the lead in analyzing stocks on a Europe-wide rather than domestic basis. Developing a business in shifting huge portfolios from domestic stocks to euro zone weightings.
