CNNSI initially began by trying to forge a new brand: "CNNSI." But the original site logo didn't adequately acknowledge the Sports Illustrated connection.

The current logo as well as the new one scheduled to appear on Sept. 27, are reinforcing the Sports Illustrated presence on the site.
