In ''A titan looks way past the Pyrenees'' (European Business, Feb. 1), you mention under the snapshot that the new Banco Santander Central Hispano will have a market capitalization of $36 billion, making it the largest bank in Europe.

Actually, the biggest bank in Europe is Britain's Lloyds TSB, with a market capitalization of $71 billion, followed closely by Switzerland's United Bank of Switzerland (UBS), with a market cap of $70 billion.
