You're Rich. Now What?

WHAT TO DO

-- Put the money in a CD or other safe instrument, then invest the bulk of it.

-- Hire a certified financial planner or other trusted adviser.

-- Check out your options' tax ramifications before cashing them in.

-- Think about priorities: College for the kids? Retirement?

WHAT NOT TO DO

-- Blow it on houses, cars, vacations, and luxury items. Even millions won't go far once the IRS takes its share.

-- Call your cousin the accountant for help with your $2 million windfall.

-- Instruct your broker to exercise options and sell stock before talking to your planner.

-- Quit your job.
