Pain's Pathway and the Drugs That Block It (.pdf) This oversized graphic incorporates the two tables, "Defining Pain" and "Pain Snipers", with a large illustration of the human nervous system that shows how pain signals move through it and how new pain treatments work to block those signals. Also included are two additional detailed graphics that show 1) how pain signals are transmitted from pain-sensing cells to the central nervous system and 2) a cross-section of the spinal column showing the structures that transmit pain signals through the spinal cord to the brain.
