The Apple Pipeline Is Primed

CAN APPLE COMPUTER KEEP UP the momentum it has built up with the hot iMac? Interim CEO Steve Jobs on Jan. 4 will take the wraps off new products--including an iMac with a faster processor--that the company hopes will do the trick. The star attraction at the annual Macworld convention, say sources close to the company, is an upgrade of the high-end G3. Code-named Yosemite, the new computer will boast processor speeds as high as 400 megahertz, vs. 333 MHz for current models, and a translucent design like that of the iMac. Still in the works: a mobile device weighing under four pounds code-named WebMate.
