Then there's the matter of sending off the information you've typed in. Probably the slickest way to turn a Palm III or Windows CE Handheld PC into a communications device is with BeamLink software from JP Systems and the 4 1/4-oz. AccessLink II two-way pager from Glenayre Technologies. The system uses the handheld's infrared link to beam E-mail to and from the pager, which functions as a modem. You can get either Palm or CE software and the pager as a $239 package from JP (www.jpsystems.com). Two-way paging and E-mail service from SkyTel starts at $25 per month, plus a $20 setup charge.
