ONE MAN'S TOY IS ANOTHER MAN'S HEADACHE''Those #!*! jet skis roar up the Potomac'' (News: Analysis & Commentary, Sept. 14) uses motorcycles as an incorrect comparison. Motorcycles are useful means of transportation. They are registered, have license plates, and usually have insurance. Jet skis, by comparison, are useless toys that have almost no practical function other than the consumption of gasoline. They are transported to water, they make a lot of noise, and are transported home again in other vehicles. I have always likened them to houseflies, which buzz around pointlessly all day, never actually going anywhere, never serving any real purpose, yet annoying a remarkable number of people who are minding their own business.
