ADDING ZIP TO LAPTOPS

Iomega Zip drives and their newer rivals, Imation SuperDrives, are becoming commonly offered options on laptops. But if you have an older notebook and would like the convenience of a high-capacity floppy drive, consider the new $249 Zip Mii drive from Microtech International (800 220-9489 or 203 468-6223). The drive, which weighs 12 ounces and is 1/2 inch thick, plugs into a PCCard slot on a Win95 laptop. It draws power from the computer, so batteries or external power supply aren't required. Installation is plug-and-play, and the drive can be attached and removed without shutting down or suspending the laptop.
