FEEL LIKE HELPING SCULLY AND MULDER?IN THE SEATTLE AREA, MYSTERIOUS events are taking place: murders, fires, and strange illnesses. An episode of The X-Files? It is, but with a twist. In this version, you work with Dana Scully and Fox Mulder to figure out what's going on. When the first PC game based on the popular TV series hits stores on June 11, you can play an FBI agent and help Mulder and Scully investigate the mysteries of the twisted and the supernatural. The game has the same dark feel as the series. Six hours of original video footage lets you interview witnesses, search Mulder's and Scully's computer files, and interact with others on the show, including Assistant Director Walter Skinner. The mystery's solution depends on your choices. Jon Richmond, president of Fox Interactive Inc., says it should take 30 to 40 hours to play just one iteration. Helped by marketing for the X-Files film that opens on June 19, Fox expects to sell over 250,000 copies of the $49.95, seven-CD game in the U.S. That would be a strong showing, though hit games such as Riven have topped 1 million copies in the U.S. Fox expects to sell at least 500,000 games overseas.
