It wasn't an event that attracted a lot of hoopla, but this summer marked the 50th year since the U.S. set out to rebuild a war-shattered Europe. The Library of Congress' commemorative exhibition, For European Recovery: The Fiftieth Anniversary of the Marshall Plan, has closed, but an electronic version will live on indefinitely at the Library's Web site. The exhibit features images of numerous historical documents and photographs. The scanned images take a while to download, but for history buffs, the wait is worthwhile.
