NEW BLOOD AT THE CEA

-- Northwestern University economist Rebecca Blank is the leading candidate to replace Alicia H. Munnell on the White House Council of Economic Advisers. President Clinton is expected to nominate Blank this fall. A labor and welfare expert, Blank has skills that would complement those of CEA Chair Janet L. Yellen, a macroeconomist, and international economist Jeffrey A. Frankel. Munnell has moved to Boston, where she is mulling job offers.
