Contracted backlog for active projects stood at $6.7 million at December 31, 1996, down 8.2% from the level at September 30, 1996.

Despite sharply higher interest income, and tax credits of $137,000, versus taxes at 25.4%, a net loss of $1,080,000 ($0.11 a share, on 2.3% more shares) contrasted with net income of $898,000 ($0.07).
