LIFE'S ORIGINS ON CDNo researcher working at the frontiers of science has captured the popular imagination like Cambridge University physicist Stephen W. Hawking. MetaCreations (805 566-6200) has taken a Hawking lecture on the origin of life in the universe and converted it into a multimedia CD-ROM for Mac and Windows. In addition to Hawking's talk, the disk contains articles by other scientists, including Harvard paleontologist Stephen J. Gould; an extensive glossary, and a collection of minilessons on the science surrounding life's origin.
