HELPING EXECS FIND THE WAYRoad warriors can get a lot of information for little money with the new Business Traveler's Suite for Windows from Rand McNally. The heart of the four CD-ROM, $79 package is Rand McNally's basic mapping products. StreetFinder provides detailed maps of locations throughout the U.S., while TripMaker offers route suggestions as well as information on lodging, restaurants, and attractions. With the new versions, Rand McNally joins competitors DeLorme and Microsoft in supporting global positioning system receivers, which can pinpoint your location on maps displayed on a laptop. Laptop users can also download map data for the areas they need onto their hard disks, eliminating the need for the CD-ROM on the road. Other components of the package are Rand McNally's Quick Reference Atlas and American Business Information's PhoneDisc Business, a national directory of commercial phone numbers and addresses. Links between the program let you display businesses found on PhoneDisc on StreetFinder maps.
