CA's Software Kingdom Computer Associates' 500 or so products help run most large corporations. They fall into three basic categories: SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT MAINFRAME: CA's mainframe programs handle everything from scheduling computer tasks to optimizing performance to troubleshooting problems. NETWORKING: CA developed Unicenter, a family of programs for managing computers. PRODUCT TO WATCH: Unicenter TNG, which features a 3-D visual interface, ships in early 1997. DATABASE AND DEVELOPMENT TOOLS MAINFRAME: CA has various programs for managing corporate data and software development. NETWORKING: CA-OpenIngres runs on the Unix computers common in many ''client-server'' setups. PRODUCT TO WATCH: Jasmine, a new database program, is designed to handle multimedia data such as images and audio clips. APPLICATIONS MAINFRAME: CA has a variety of programs for running corporate accounting and manufacturing operations.
