A MAC ATTACK BY MOTOROLA

MOTOROLA IS BROADENING ITS push into computers. The technology giant has sold its modest PowerStack PCs since last year. But on Sept. 17 it introduced its StarMax Macintosh clones, the first major manufacturer to do so. StarMax, powered by Motorola's PowerPC microprocessor, will cost $1,600 to $4,000. And 21 new PowerStack II models will run $2,500 to $10,000. Both systems carry five-year warranties--long for the industry.
