ARE YOU LISTED IN THE E-MAIL WHITE PAGES?

ONE OF THE MOST APPEALING FEATURES OF THE INTERNET is the ability to send E-mail instantly around the globe. That is, if you know the correct address of your electronic pen pal. And with some 35 million users, finding a particular person's E-mail address is getting harder.

Now, there's the Bigfoot Directory. Housed on a World Wide Web server (http://www.bigfoot.com), Bigfoot's 5 million listings mainly come from voluntary submissions--Net surfers who change their Internet service providers and want their friends on the Net to know they've ``moved.'' However, Bigfoot officials are aware that unscrupulous Netizens may use its free directory service to send ``spam''--unwanted junk mail. Therefore, users have the option of joining a free privacy list that will be distributed to Net spammers, advising them to remove the address from their lists.
