If the show put on by Comet Hayakutake piqued your interest in astronomy, you might want to look at First Light, a Windows planetarium from Virtual Reality Labs (800 829-8754). The new Version 1.11 of the $69 program lets you track Hayakutake as it leaves earth's neighborhood and then prepare for Comet Hale-Bopp, due next April. First Light, which offers data on thousands of other celestial bodies, allows you to watch the night sky and view the heavens from Mars, the moon, or any perspective you choose.
