SLIDE SHOWS ON TV
Taking a computerized presentation on the road is fine if you know you'll have the right audiovisual equipment. The Maxmedia TV Mini from UMAX Technologies (800 562-0311) is a handy $179 insurance policy. The device, about the size of a remote control, attaches to the video connector of your laptop and allows you to use any television that has video-in connectors--including European sets using the PAL standard--as a display. Just be careful planning your slides: A TV set offers much lower resolution than a computer monitor, so use big type. And differences in the number of scan lines mean that you'll lose a bit off the top and bottom of the screen.
