ALAIN PRESTATALAIN PRESTAT, CEO of Paris-based Thomson Multimedia, provided the amazing $599 12-inch dish and set-top box that made direct satellite broadcast one of the biggest hits of 1995. Thomson's RCA Digital Satellite System sold nearly 2 million units in a year. Operating profits jumped fourfold. Next up: new Digital Video Disks with more capacity.
