A LITTLE SHORT AT PACKARD BELLCOMPUTER MAKER PACKARD Bell Electronics has a cash-flow problem. It had to sell a 20% stake in July to Japan's NEC. And in a Securities & Exchange Commission filing made public on Nov. 27, chipmaker Intel said it had converted to a loan part of the accounts receivable from a big customer--widely suspected to be Packard Bell. Still, Packard says its revenues will rise more than 50% over last year's $2.9 billion, and some analysts say it will gain market share. EDITED BY KEITH H. HAMMONDS
